How to navigate the schedule: The conference schedule is hosted by Sched.com which allows you to search within the schedule, and filter the schedule to show sessions only occurring on a certain day or time.

You can build your own schedule by creating a free account with Sched.com by selecting "SIGN UP" in the top right corner. To use the filter options, find the "Filter by Type" heading on the right side of the page and select one of the sessions.   A navigation bar will appear, showing all of the tracks.  Hovering over the "Schedule" tab at the top of the agenda will show the different ways to view the schedule.

For more information, watch a how-to video from Sched.com to learn about all of the features.

Learner-Centered Proficiency-Based Science
Science at Rutland Town School has fully transitioned into a learner-centered proficiency-based classroom. In this presentation 6th grade RTS students will be presenting how they learn and how it is going for them with no teacher providing whole class instruction. They will explain the team structure and how they conduct inquiries. Finally, they will be able to explain all the mechanisms that make science fun. These 6th graders will answer all your questions about their learner-centered classroom!

Personalized Learning- kinda messy but really worth it!

I often feel overstretched with the task of supporting students' individual needs and interests, but every single day I am truly inspired by their persistence and creativity. Personalizing learning requires additional time and flexibility to set up and manage, but the rewards of fully engaged students and innovative projects are a true mark of success. In this workshop, I will provide tools and tips for how to ‘make it work’ as well as specific ideas for project-based learning.
