How to navigate the schedule: The conference schedule is hosted by Sched.com which allows you to search within the schedule, and filter the schedule to show sessions only occurring on a certain day or time.

You can build your own schedule by creating a free account with Sched.com by selecting "SIGN UP" in the top right corner. To use the filter options, find the "Filter by Type" heading on the right side of the page and select one of the sessions.   A navigation bar will appear, showing all of the tracks.  Hovering over the "Schedule" tab at the top of the agenda will show the different ways to view the schedule.

Digital Dossier: Curriculum, PLPs and Reports with Tech-Tools
Academic work, personalized learning plans, and proficiency-based assessments. These define the products and processes of learning and growth. With the use of technology these elements form a "digital dossier" - a narrative of each student's learning experience. Through the use of Google Classroom, Jumprope, Protean and more, students at the Edge Academy and Shelburne Community School have explored numerous resources to collect, review, and express their learning while defining 21st century "digital citizenship". Gary Tilden will also present on the newest features that Protean offers as a platform for PLPs.

Q+A, discussion, and conversation will be built in to this presentation.

Heart-Rate Monitoring and Personalized Learning in Phys Ed
Students will share how using heart rate monitoring technology in Physical Education at Crossett Brook Middle School personalizes learning and increases student motivation to be physically active. Presenters will demonstrate how the use of heart rate monitor watches enables learners to self-assess and adjust effort in class (from the instant, object feedback the monitors provide) so that they can reach (and maintain) a fitness-enhancing level of participation.  Time permitting, student presenters will also coach each audience member through the process of using a heart rate monitor so they can see first-hand how the personalized feedback motivates and actively engages all learners.

PLPs, New Google Sites and Student Led Conferences
Learn more about how to use the New Google Sites from my students. Students have been working as support crew members this year to teach other students how to create sites and build online portfolios as part of their goal setting work and PLPs. Students will showcase their portfolio site examples and how they have used sites during their student led conferences.

Students Are Historians
How can students become more engaged in the study of history? Encourage them to be real historians. Challenge them to follow their passions, conduct archival research, and present their websites and documentaries to other historians. Students will share their experiences with Vermont History Day, a structured program that predates personalized learning plans, but provides students the venue to practice transferrable skills while learning a wide variety of history content.
